Dr Hilda Fennell O’Shea
Doctor Hilda Fennell O’Shea is a GP doctor with a special interest in dermatology. Dr. O’ Shea also held the role of Medical Director of Student Medical Services at Cork Institute of Technology for many years. She is a highly experienced medical practitioner who has practised in Cork since she qualified from University College Cork . Her practice is a teaching practice attached to UCC and Dr. O’Shea teaches a dermatology module to the undergraduate medical students before their GP placements. She is also a guest lecturer in dermatology to the UCC Pharmacy students.

It is a fully computerised practice and has links to the labs at Cork University Hospital and online referrals for urgent cancer screening.
Dermatology
Dr. Fennell O’Shea is a founding member of the Irish Primary Care Dermatology Society (PCDS) at Committee level and is an honorary life member of the British Primary Care Dermatology Society. Dr Hilda Fennell is a member of the EADV, European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology and Fellow of the Royal Academy, Dermatology section.
Dr O’Shea has actively contributed to furthering interest in Dermatology amongst GPs and promoting their on-going education in this area. She set up a number of highly praised educational dermatology meetings including the annual general PCDS dermatology meeting.
This led to a scholarship fund for members of primary care dermatology to study at Cardiff University in Wales for a Diploma in Practical Dermatology.
The society has gone from strength to strength and now has over 300 members. As a result of all her efforts and commitment to promoting best dermatology practice in Ireland and organising GP training and meetings, Dr. Fennell O’ Shea was made an honorary life member of the British Primary Care Dermatology Society UK in 2010.
